Doing the decent things.

The biggest barries people with disabilities encounter are other people. And from my perspective these days, no true words were ever spoken. Ignorance is one thing but disregard or disrespect for others' feelings is a totally different ball game.

Whoever said ' sticks and stone may break my bones but words will never hurt me ' must have had the thickest skin known to man. Seriously? You don't get affected by words people say or actions they do by you? that's virtually impossible I reckon.

Never mind words uttered to me months or weeks ago, I'm still struggling to shake off harsh words from a few years ago! Call me dramatic but whilst human actions may be possible to control, emotions are not so easy to hold back. And boy, are we humans dramatic.

I mean, EVERYONE has weak points at diferent times or for different reasons and granted, sometimes one may say the worst things when cornered, but I don't understand people who hit below the belt. That's just plain evil. Why would you rub salt in the wound, grind it in and cover it in cling film to keep the salt in place

The truth is, I believe we should take responsibility for our words and actions towards other people. Whilst how someone makes you feel may be you own responsibility, what the other party does to evoke such emotions is theirs. It goes beyond social responsibility, it's a responsibility each of us has as a human being.

Lessons learnt - if you feel you have been wronged by someone, speak up. Don't let it slide. Don't beat yourself up about it. It is not your fault and certainly okay to stand up for yourself. NO ONE has the right to make you feel insecure or inferior. And if you are ever confronted and called on something you may have said or done to another person, deal with it.

When you have been wrong, or done wrong, by someone, don't just keep quiet. Deal with it.

June

Hey earthlings!

So I'm here again, in this meaningless midnight. I don't know why, I just feel like writing. Well I know it is stifling if I said so, but time does flies! In a blink of an eye. It is June again, four more days to go for my sixteen birthday. How can time pass so ridiculously fast!? It is implausible for me to believe that six months of two o one two had just passed . like . this . This is insane. Sincerely, I have to say, I don't think I study anything in these passed six months, all I remembered was having fun, fooling around and hanging out with friends. And oh ya, talk about my classmates, I have to say that, I love my classmates more and I'm glad to be with them in the same class if compare with the past 3 years of secondary life. They just rejoice me with no reason and I'm having great time with them, do really wish to be in the same class with them next year if there isn't any mistake in our final exams.

There's like a lot of things happened in this holidays. People goes and comes around. Some people just frightened me with their actions, because for me, they are wise, and they will never try to hurt the one they love. But, maybe this is just the view of mine. It just saddens me when people do whatever they love to do without any apprehension and like never care about the aftermath. They do things that sabotage one another, and after all, they end up regreting for doing all these silly things and make these stupid decisions.

And about me, I cant disavow, there's many things happened in me in these passed six months too. Tiny little things that changed me a lot. And all these things remind me to be a better person, and to remind me to change my attitude towards other. I can't deny that I'm an emotional person before this, and my emotional is like a beyond cure, nobody can ever try to change me. But now, after experienced many kind of things, I've learnt to grown up, and I'm trying my best to change for a better person, it's not too late to regret my actions and change myself now.. right?  I'm still in the middle of process of learning, and I know it's not easy. But people, let's hope for the best!

Till then. xx
